Hello everyone. I am Malaysia Evans, the CEO and designer of this fashion-forward, self-empowering brand. Outside of having a passion for fashion, why did I really create this brand?
Most of my life, my abilities and endeavors have known no bounds. Since adolescence, I have been involved in any and everything: modeling, acting, ballet, karate, gymnastics, cheerleading, band, youth ambassador in several organizations, mentoring, philanthropy, and so much more! I don't share this to brag, but as a testament that all my life, I've done a bit of everything. However, somewhere along the way, my fire dimmed. I started to believe that I didn't have the capacity to do all these amazing things, and so I began to limit myself. I listened to the voice of others who said I was "doing too much" and subconsciously decided to place myself in a box.
During that time, I felt unfulfilled. I knew there was more to me than the box I built around myself. I had also forgotten how dynamic I was prior to that time. It wasn't until God orchestrated me taking an art class (that I had no intention of taking) that my fire began to spark again. I could feel my passion reigniting. I began dreaming again, and boom, it happened. I remembered my childhood dream of wanting to be a fashion designer and have my own brand!
I truly believe I had to go through that moment of dimness to give purpose to what I'm doing now. I created this brand for the individuals, like you, who know there is more to them but can't quite put their finger on what. The weird one. The eccentric one. The one who can't seem to fit in. My prayer is that when you experience Laysia Lavon, your fire will be fully ignited! You will live again - not the you who has shaped your identity by the words of others, but the true you. You will dream again. You will live beyond limitations, and everything you set forth to do, you will successfully accomplish. With this brand, I dare you to be yourself and to just do you!
